Maternity Cover Teacher (Year 3/4)

January 2027 to July 2027

At Avondale Prep School, we believe that children achieve their very best when they feel valued, supported and inspired. We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and committed teacher to join our friendly school community as a maternity cover teacher for our mixed Year 3/4 class from January 2027 until July 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Key Stage 2 practitioner who is passionate about helping every child flourish academically, socially and personally. We are looking for someone who combines high expectations with warmth and encouragement, and who will embrace the opportunity to become a valued member of our school family.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have successful experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
• Have experience of, or the ability to support pupils preparing for, 11+ entrance examinations.
• Deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
• Foster a happy, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where every child feels encouraged to succeed.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour and personal development.
• Possess strong organisation, communication and classroom management skills.
• Work positively and collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community.
• Share our commitment to developing confident, kind and resilient young people.

Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
Start Date: January 2027
End Date: July 2027
Salary: Competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience
